It amazes me that I still see signs of this thinking. Web pages and services are tailored to small screens and people expect that to create the mobile internet. It won't. There is only one internet, and if your device cannot access it, you're out of luck. There is only one internet.
To summarize and conclude, let me tone down my claim. The Semantic Web is not dead; but the grand vision of "A Semantic Web" will not be achieved, despite Tim's noble efforts. Instead, we will see the Emerging-Semantics Web, derived from how people/developers use lightweidht formas and tags of popular platforms such as Flickr and YouTube.
